Cold Drip Coffee Sour
Adding lemon to cold drip coffee is a fun and refreshing combination when you want to liven up your morning coffee.
A variation of this drink originated in Italy (though conflicting stories also say it was invented in America) and adds a lovely tangy acidity to coffee.
While this can be made with hot coffee, I though developing a cold drip option would be delicious. The flavoursome and fragrant lemon juice combined with the caramel, dark chocolate and almond flavours of our coffee sounded like a drink I wanted on rotation.
I have called this recipe a cold drip sour and hopefully you’ll enjoy it just as much as I have.
Ingredients:
- 100ml Dark City Foundry cold drip coffee
- 1 tbsp fresh lemon juice
- 1 tbsp simple syrup
Method:
Combine the cold drip coffee, lemon juice and simple syrup in a glass and gently stir. Add ice and serve.
To make a simple syrup dissolve equal parts sugar in equal part hot water and cool. It will keep in the fridge for up to two weeks.
